Terms of Service
Last updated: 7/2/2026
1. Who we are
GoDrop Global ("GoDrop", "we", "us") operates a peer-to-peer parcel delivery network connecting senders with independent couriers and travellers. We are an intermediary marketplace — we do not own, carry, or insure parcels ourselves. By creating an account or using the platform you agree to these Terms of Service.
2. Eligibility and accounts
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. You must complete identity verification (KYC) before sending or carrying parcels. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. Provide accurate information and keep it up to date. We may suspend or terminate accounts that provide false information or fail verification.
3. The service
GoDrop lets senders post parcels and couriers accept and deliver them. Deliveries are tracked in real time and confirmed via a two-code handoff at pickup and drop-off. GoDrop does not guarantee the availability of couriers, delivery times, or that any particular parcel will be accepted.
4. Courier responsibilities
Couriers are independent contractors, not employees or agents of GoDrop. As a courier you:
- Set your own routes and accept jobs at your discretion.
- Hold a valid driver's licence, vehicle registration, and any insurance required by law for the vehicle you use.
- Inspect each parcel at pickup, refuse anything suspicious, and complete the two-code handoff at both ends.
- Handle parcels with reasonable care and follow any handling instructions provided by the sender.
- Are responsible for declaring earnings and paying tax in your jurisdiction.
5. Sender responsibilities
Senders must accurately describe the parcel (contents, size, weight, fragility), package it safely, and provide correct pickup and drop-off addresses and contact details. You are responsible for ensuring the parcel and its contents are legal to send at the origin, destination, and any transit point.
6. Prohibited items
You may never send, and couriers must refuse to carry:
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or fireworks.
- Illegal drugs, controlled substances, or drug paraphernalia.
- Cash, cheques, or other negotiable instruments.
- Hazardous materials, flammable liquids, corrosives, or compressed gases.
- Live animals or human remains.
- Perishable food that requires temperature control.
- Counterfeit, stolen, or unlawfully obtained goods.
- Anything illegal at the origin, destination, or any transit country.
7. Payments and Stripe
All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment provider. Senders pay upfront at booking. Funds are held in escrow by Stripe and released to the courier after the delivery is confirmed via the two-code handoff. GoDrop deducts a platform fee (shown at checkout) before payout. All prices are shown in your local currency and include applicable taxes where required. Stripe's use of your payment data is governed by their Privacy Policy.
8. Cancellations and refunds
Senders may cancel before pickup for a full refund. After a courier has accepted and is en route, a cancellation fee may apply to compensate the courier's time. After pickup, cancellations are reviewed case-by-case. Refunds for damaged, lost, or non-delivered parcels are handled through our dispute process — see section 10.
9. Ratings and conduct
Senders, recipients, and couriers may rate each other after a delivery. Ratings must be honest and based on the actual experience. Harassment, discrimination, threats, or abusive behaviour toward another user or GoDrop staff will result in account suspension or termination.
10. Disputes
If a parcel is damaged, lost, or not delivered as described, file a dispute in-app within 48 hours of the scheduled delivery time. Include photos, the two-code handoff record, and any relevant messages. Our support team will investigate using the evidence available (GPS trail, proof-of-delivery photos, in-app messages) and issue a determination. Refunds, partial refunds, or courier payment adjustments will be made at our reasonable discretion based on the evidence.
11. Liability
GoDrop is a marketplace and is not a party to the delivery contract between senders and couriers. To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- Our aggregate liability for any delivery is capped at the declared value of the parcel or NZ$100, whichever is lower, unless additional protection has been purchased.
- We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits or business opportunity.
- We are not liable for the acts or omissions of senders, recipients, or couriers.
- The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, except those that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account at any time if you breach these terms, fail identity verification, generate excessive disputes, or engage in conduct that harms the community or the platform. You may close your account at any time from Settings. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (payments owed, liability, indemnity, governing law) will continue to apply.
13. Intellectual property
The GoDrop name, logo, app, website, and all associated content are owned by GoDrop Global and protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.
14. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. By using GoDrop you also agree to that policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or in-app at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the platform after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
16. Governing law
These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these terms or your use of GoDrop will be resolved exclusively in the courts of New Zealand, unless applicable consumer law in your country of residence gives you the right to bring proceedings elsewhere.
